When I started writing last year I wanted to share my journey as my family moved from town to town and how I designed each home to be our own – even if just for a short time. While design is my focus as well as what I love & want to share with you, the moving is a big part of my experience.
Some days I feel like I am an expert mover. Maybe it’s because I have moved 5 times in the last 14 years. Well I am at it again. After only 12 months in our current location it’s time to move… again. Honestly I haven’t even had time to unpack all the boxes from the last move. But all this moving got me thinking…what would I need to know if this was my first time.
There are so many things to consider when preparing to move – will I do all the packing myself? Will I rent a truck to move our stuff? Will I hire a professional mover to pack & transport our possessions? Can I afford that? As I embark on this process one more time, come along. I will try to help you see what your options are and share my best tips to make this process as smooth as possible for you and your family.
If you have any specific questions about the process or anything discussed in this series feel free to contact me on Facebook, Twitter or comment below. I hope I can help make this easier for you and help you avoid some of the craziness I have encountered along the way.
Are you ready to move? Yes? Great, then let’s get moving!
