Simple Thankful Table

In less than a month we will be celebrating Thanksgiving with family & friends around the table.  This holiday brings thoughts of our favorite foods, football, festive gatherings and maybe a little shopping. But for those hosting these food filled events, preparations can create an unreal amount of stress. There is so much to do with the food & so much pressure to create a beautiful tablescape…here are my top tips to help you create a simple thankful table that will set the stage for this special meal.

Fall Color

Take Color Cues from Outdoors.

I am always inspired by the beautiful shades of fall. Use these shades to adorn your table. Oranges, rusts and soft greens will create a soothing palette that feels natural & sets the mood for a relaxing meal with engaging conversations.

ChinaUse What You Have.

Do you have a set of grandma’s china or that set from your wedding?  Your china is usually collecting dusk in the cabinet.  So get it out, dust it off & get it on the table. No time like the present to get those beautiful pieces on the table.

Centerpiece

Create a Fun & Simple Centerpiece.

One of my favorite centerpieces includes a large vase and twigs. Yes I said twigs!  You can buy them at the craft store but if you have any trees in your yard get out there and gather a few. With a little bit of spray paint and some ribbon or string you can create a wonderfully unique piece that will help you set a beautiful table.  Using small ornaments, photos or inspirational quotes will be a lovely addition.  Maybe even a few dry leaves scattered around the table.

TableUse a Neutral Table Covering

To ground the table with all the colors of fall use a neutral table covering.  This can be an off white table cloth you already have or a piece of fabric that you get from the craft store.  The soft neutral tone will create a beautiful contrast to your other table elements.

Hopefully these tips have inspired you to see what you have and get outside to create a simple thankful table where you can celebrate the blessings of life with your family & friends.
